Joshua Silveira has had quite a journey in the Professional Fighters League, from stepping out of the shadow of his legendary father, Marcus “Conan” Silveira, and emerging as tournament finalist to becoming a father himself.
The former two-division Legacy Fighting Alliance champion has started to make his mark in the promotion and returned to the win column with a unanimous decision over Murad Ramazanov as part of the PFL 2025 World Tournament 10 undercard on Aug. 21 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, California. Silveira entered the cage as the betting underdog. Nailing down a victory so close to home with his three-month-old daughter in the crowd, he could not have asked for a more satisfying outcome.

“It was a perfect moment,” Silveira told Sherdog.com. “There was a little bit of nervousness. My daughter is three months old, so she doesn’t really know what’s happening, but everything in the lead-up went perfectly. Nothing to do with fighting. Just being around her and building towards the fight, it was perfect. My family and coaches got to play their part correctly, and it all went according to plan. It’s been a long year, and we still have more to go.”
Silveira joined the PFL in 2022 and owns an 8-5 record across his 13 appearances with the organization. The 2025 campaign has been special to him.
“I would say out of all the years I’ve been with the PFL, this has been overall the more enjoyable year in a sense of organization, the show, the schedule and the competition,” Silveira said. “I love being here every step of the way with the PFL. I’m a PFL veteran now. I understand this show, and as long as I perform, they continue to support me and give me a chance to do my thing.”
Silveira, who turns 33 on Christmas Day, works to balance his professional responsibilities at American Top Team with those at home.
“The biggest thing I’ve learned is enjoying the moment now, especially when you see that little kid growing up,” Silveira said. “Those days go by, and you can’t get those back. The combination of going to the gym and getting back home to be a parent … my friends are all texting me, but they know what I’m doing. I’m with my daughter. I train, and I hang out with my daughter. I’m so blessed to have a job where I can be with my family right after working. I never had to get a 9-to-5. This time is different. I’m living my dream. I’m supporting my daughter. I can’t really explain what’s happening, but it’s so nice to experience.”
Silveira’s relationship with his famous father has been well-chronicled. The experience of having a child of his own has only deepened their bond.
“My father, as amazing a person as he is, he’s been through a lot,” Silveira said. “He’s had to make a lot of decisions in life that put him in spots that I’ve also been in. Sometimes, you have to get burned to understand what’s going on. You kind of have to go through hard times to appreciate the good times. I’ve had plenty of times where I don’t get to come backstage and talk to you guys because I lost, and my father told me that this isn’t who I am. We get back up, and we go again. When it’s done, it’s gone after this. I’m just enjoying it, training hard and getting after it, but there’s no one else I’d rather have by my side than my father.”
