Aaron Pico vs. Daniel Carey targeted for Bellator 238

Bellator featherweight Aaron Pico will get another chance to bounce back at Bellator 238.

Pico has verbally agreed to face Daniel Carey on the Jan. 25 fight card in Inglewood, Calif. The news was first reported by ESPN.com.

The 23-year-old wrestling standout is five months removed from a knockout loss to Adam Borics at Bellator 222. That setback followed a brutal knockout loss to Henry Corrales in January at Bellator 214.

Once touted one of Bellator’s most promising prospects, Pico lost all of the momentum of a four-fight winning streak as he transitioned to more experienced opposition. After his most recent knockout loss, he said he would continue to improve and work his way back to the top.

Standing in the way of that goal is Carey, who two months ago delivered an upset win when he submitted knockout artist Gaston Bolanos at Bellator 226. He is 3-2 in the Bellator cage.
