Absolute Championship Akhmat to Resume Events in July

After a brief hiatus due to the coronavirus, Absolute Championship Akhmat will be putting on events in the near future.

The largest European league, ACA is the product of the merger between former organizations Absolute Championship Berkut and World Fighting Championship Akhmat. Their formation is similar to the U.S.-based organization of Legacy Fighting Alliance from Resurrection Fighting Alliance and Legacy Fighting Championship.

ACA President Alexey Yatsenko explained to Sherdog, “We value the work of our fighters and do not want them to lose their class by standing idle without a fight. We want to return MMA to fans, instill optimism and faith that a pandemic is not forever. Therefore, we will start on July 11 with ACA 106 and until the end of the summer we will have four events.”

The events of ACA 106 and ACA 107 will be reorganized and announced soon. The fight between Aleksander Emelianenko and Magomed Ismailov will take place on July 24, as previously announced. The two were first booked at the event on April 7, but the card was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The ACA Sports Commission will develop a safety protocol for upcoming events, which should be disclosed in the future. The place and format of events will depend on the development of the pandemic situation.
