Ultimate Fighting Championship stars Alex Pereira and Diego Lopes travelled to Milan, Italy, during their tour of the European nation. While in its borders, the two attended the soccer game between AC Milan and Roma at the San Siro Stadium. During the game, Pereira and Lopes had the chance to exchange pleasantries with former AC Milan all-time great striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Sweden’s Ibrahimovic retired in 2023, and has since served as a strategic adviser for AC Milan. Milan went on to beat Roma 1-0, with Strahinja Pavlovic scoring the winning goal. Meanwhile, goalkeeper captain Mike Maignan saved the day by denying Paulo Dybala a late penalty kick.
Pereira posted a clip of the penalty save on his Instagram stories. “Poatan” also posted footage of his interaction with Ibrahimovic, with his coach Plinio Cruz acting as translator. Both of those videos are no longer available for access on the Brazilian’s page, but content creator Red Corner MMA captured the exchange and posted it on social media on Sunday.
While Pereira tells Ibrahimovic that he doesn’t follow much football, the Swedish legend informs that he follows the UFC light heavyweight champion on Instagram. Cruz tells Ibrahimovic that it is Pereira’s first time in Italy, and they plan to visit Rome after Milan. Ibrahimovic also asked Lopes about his next fight, and lightweight replied that it could be in January. “Poatan” is currently recovering from a broken foot he suffered in reclaiming his title from Magomed Ankalaev last month. When he returns, the 205-pound king is considering a shift to heavyweight for a superfight against Jon Jones.
