Alfie Davis (19-5) isn’t buying into the hype behind his upcoming opponent.
Davis will fight Gadzhi Rabdanov (26-4) in the lightweight finals at PFL World Tournament 9 on Aug. 15 at the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina. Davis believes the 2024 season lightweight champ is overrated. While Rabadonov is on a four-fight knockout streak, Davis finds the Dagestani’s resume unimpressive prior to that. Davis considers himself a better boxer, although he acknowledges Rabadonov’s knockout power. “The Axe Man” predicts a knockout win over Rabadanov.

“I’m gonna knock him out… I think he is overrated to be honest,” Davis said on Sherdog.com’s The Sheehan Show. “I think his resume is overrated as well… If you watch the guys that he has beat before he went on this sort of knockout spree that he had and what he was doing before that, he’s not that great.
Davis: I’m a Better Boxer Than Rabadanov
“And I’m willing to prove that… I think I’m a better striker. Everyone speaks about his hands. He’s got good power, he’s a good puncher but I think I’m a better boxer.”
Davis moved to the PFL 2025 finals with a knockout win over Clay Collard, followed by a decision win over Brent Primus. Meanwhile, Rabadanov hadn’t lost in 12 straight outings since 2020. Rabadanov knocked out former UFC fighters Marc Diakiese and Kevin Lee earlier this year to move to the finals for the second consecutive time.
