Andrea Lee Releases Statement Regarding Canceled UFC 216 Bout

As previously reported, Andrea Lee won’t be making her Octagon debut at UFC 216 next Saturday, but she plans on signing with the Las Vegas-based promotion.

The Legacy Fighting Alliance flyweight titlist released a statement on Instagram confirming the cancellation of her recently scheduled bout against Kalindra Faria at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Since she failed a drug test for a diuretic in 2016, Lee must be in the USADA testing pool for six months before she can make her UFC debut.

“I’m still signing a fight contract with UFC, that hasn’t changed. I just have to enroll in this program so my time can start ticking,” she wrote. “Look for me to fight next year the end of March or early April.

“P.S.: I’m not on drugs nor have I taken any steroids. I’ve passed all my random drug tests this year.”
