Andrew Sanchez vs. Marvin Vettori scrapped from UFC Fight Night in Vancouver

A planned middleweight bout between Andrew Sanchez and Marvin Vettori has been pulled from the upcoming UFC Fight Night card in Vancouver this weekend.

UFC officials confirmed to MMA Fighting on Wednesday that the bout would be pulled from the card. Sources close to the situation confirmed that Sanchez fell ill earlier this week and would be unable to compete on Saturday night. TSN initially reported the news.

As of now, it’s expected that Sanchez and Vettori will be booked for a future card, but there’s no word on when that might happen.

Sanchez was looking to build on back-to-back wins in his most recent fights after the former “Ultimate Fighter” champion picked up victories over Markus Perez and Marc-Andre Barriault.

As for Vettori, he had just returned to action in July where he picked up a unanimous decision win over Cezar Ferreira.

The UFC Fight Night card from Vancouver will now move forward with 12 total bouts including a lightweight main event between Justin Gaethje and Donald Cerrone.
