Anthony Pettis, Diego Ferreira to Clash at UFC Event in Las Vegas on Jan. 18

Anthony Pettis will return to the lightweight division for a matchup with Diego Ferreira at the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s upcoming event in Las Vegas on Jan. 18.

Sherdog.com confirmed the booking following an initial report from MMAjunkie.com. The card will likely take place at T-Mobile Arena and also includes a women’s flyweight clash pitting Maycee Barber against Roxanne Modafferi.

A former UFC lightweight champion, Pettis went 1-1 during a brief stint at 170 pounds. After scoring a spectacular second-round knockout of Stephen Thompson at UFC Fight Night 148 in March, “Showtime” dropped a three-round verdict to Nate Diaz at UFC 241. The Roufusport product has alternated wins and losses in his last eight Octagon appearances.

After splitting his first four UFC bouts, Ferreira has won his last five fights within the Las Vegas-based promotion. Most recently, he outpointed Mairbek Taisumov at UFC 242 on Sept. 7.
