Susurkaev (10-0) is scheduled to fight Eric McConico (10-3) in the prelims at UFC 322, which will be his third fight in three months. Susurkaev earned his contract on Dana White’s Contender Series by finishing his opponent with a body kick on four days’ notice this past August. “Hunter” made a four-day turnaround for his debut at UFC 319, where he submitted Tom Nolan in the second round. Susurkaev explains that fighters who are hungry like staying busy.

“I do now, three months — three fights,” Susurkaev told MMAjunkie.com. “Before, one month two fights I did. And maybe two months after I’ll fight again. When you’re hungry, you need fights. But when you’re not hungry, you don’t need to fight every two three months.”
Money Over Legacy
While Susurkaev would like to say that his hunger is driven by legacy, the Russian is too honest for that. Susurkaev honestly admits that money is the biggest motivation for him to fight frequently.
“I want to say like history, legacy, but everyone knows it’s money,” Susurkaev said. “Money for helping me, myself, my father, family, for everyone who I love. Of course, money motivates you. Legacy is very good. I want to have a legacy too, but money is money.”
However, that doesn’t mean Susurkaev isn’t eyeing a legacy where he will be considered among the greatest fighters in history. The undefeated 24-year-old middleweight, who trains with Khamzat Chimaev, wants to record the most title defenses in UFC history.
“I want to take title and do defense more than Jon Jones, Anderson [Silva], like these guys, 14, 15 times. And be the all time best in the world,” he said.
