Three fighters from Saturday’s Bellator 237 card are facing indefinite medical suspensions.
Goiti Yamauchi, Lorenz Larkin and Shinsho Anzai all received indefinite suspensions unless they are medically cleared. Yamauchi and Larkin must have a kidney check cleared by a nephrologist after missing weight prior to the event. Anzai, meanwhile, must have an MRI cleared by a doctor following a second-round knockout loss to Michael Page. At a minimum, Anzai is sidelined for 60 days due to the KO defeat.
Six of the competitors on the main card did not receive a medical suspension of any kind. MMAjunkie.com initially obtained a list of medical suspensions from Bellator 237.
Bellator 237 took place at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, and saw Fedor Emelianenko stop Quinton Jackson at the 2:37 mark of Round 1 in the evening’s heavyweight headliner. “Rampage” will be suspended 60 days due to the knockout loss, while Emelianenko emerged with a clean bill of health.
