McGregor hasn’t fought since breaking his leg in a trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier in 2021. While “Notorious” has teased a return several times, it hasn’t come to fruition yet. McGregor was even booked to fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303 last year but pulled out due to a toe injury.

McGregor recently found motivation again when President Donald Trump announced that the UFC is planning a card at the White House for 2026. The Dubliner is now reportedly back in the drug testing pool to be a part of that card.
Part owner of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, McGregor recently had a face-off with the organization’s biggest star, Mike Perry. BKFC founder Dave Feldman was asked if McGregor fighting in bare knuckle could ever be a possibility. Feldman revealed that McGregor has two fights left on his UFC contract, which he needs to deliver first. Feldman also claims that McGregor plans to fight out his UFC contract and is already back in the testing pool. According to Feldman, McGregor wants to fight on the White House card and then complete his contract before considering further career options.
Feldman: McGregor Has Two Fights Left on UFC Contract
“He’s got two fights left on his contract. He’s got to get right. The whole world’s waiting: Is he going to get in shape and fight?” Feldman said on “The Ariel Helwani Show.” He told me in person. He whispered in my ear, he said, ‘I’m in the testing pool.’ He said, ‘I’m getting ready to make my comeback. I’m going to fight on that big card and then I’m gonna have another fight and then we can talk.”
