Bellator 223 takes place at the SSE Arena in London on June 22 and is headlined by a middleweight title bout between Gegard Mousasi and Rafael Lovato Jr. Chalmers vs. Freeman is expected to be part of the evening’s main card, according to a release.
Chalmers appeared on two MTV programs, “Geordie Shore” and “Ex on the Beach,” before transitioning to an MMA career. “The Joker” made his first three professional appearances under the British Association of Mixed Martial Arts banner, winning each inside of a round. He made his promotional debut at Bellator 200, choking out Ash Griffiths in the opening round. Chalmers suffered his first career setback at Bellator Newcastle, where he tapped to a Corey Browning heel hook in the third stanza.
Freeman has one Bellator appearance to his credit, as he was submitted by Kevin Ferguson Jr. in the opening frame at Bellator 187 in November 2017.
