Raoni Barcelos will face his first top-ranked opponent in the UFC’s eight-sided cage at the upcoming Fight Night card in Columbus, taking on Cody Stamann on March 28, multiple sources told MMA Fighting following a report by Combate.
Stamann (18-2-1), ranked No. 11 in the UFC bantamweight division, recently fought to a majority draw with Song Yadong in December. “Spartan” was victorious in four of his first five Octagon appearances, including wins over Tom Duquesnoy and Bryan Caraway.
Barcelos (15-1), on the other hand, is riding an eight-fight winning streak that includes winning and defending the RFA featherweight title and four UFC victories, capped off by a decision over Said Nurmagomedov.
UFC Columbus will feature a heavyweight showdown between Francis Ngannou and Jairzinho Rozenstruik in the headlining attraction. Former 135-pound champion Cody Garbrandt meets Raphael Assuncao in the co-main event.
