Covington has always projected himself as a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump. However, despite having tried for over a year, Covington failed to land a spot on the UFC White House card, which takes place on Trump’s birthday, June 14. Covington is now scheduled to wrestle Dillon Danis at RAF 7 on Saturday.

Covington admits that his relationship with the UFC has been strained over the past few months. Covington accuses executive Hunter Campbell of stringing him along after making hollow promises. Covington says that he will now go about his business, reminding the UFC that he is an independent contractor and not an employee.
“I think the last couple of months, they just kind of went sour, probably like the last six months,” Covington told Helen Yee. “They were making some promises, and they weren’t fulfilling the promises. [Hunter Campbell] was kind of stringing me along. He was saying that we’re gonna have fights and we’re gonna do this and that, and I didn’t get a call back. I just don’t like how I’ve been ghosted. And it’s okay, that’s the way you’re going with your business, it’s your business. But I’m gonna go on with my business. I’m gonna live my life, I don’t wanna tell them what I can and cannot do. I’m an independent contractor, so treat me like an independent contractor, don’t treat me like an employee.”
I Want to Put Food on the Table
While Covington hasn’t fought in the UFC since December 2024, “Chaos” has been active in wrestling under the RAF banner. Covington believes his participation in RAF is partly responsible for the falling out with the UFC. While Covington wants to compete in wrestling against fellow UFC fighters, the UFC is allegedly stopping its active fighters from competing against each other in wrestling.
“I want to wrestle all these guys – Khamzat, Arman, Usman. I want to wrestle all these guys that are active, that are high-level athletes like myself,” Covington said. “But they are not letting me. So it’s not fair. I want to earn money and put food on the table.”
