Colby Covington knocked out of $50 million World Series of Poker tournament following UFC Tampa loss

Colby Covington hasn’t had the best week.

Shortly after suffering a third-round doctor’s stoppage TKO loss to Joaquin Buckley at UFC Tampa, Covington headed to The Bahamas to compete for a share of a $50 million prize pool at the World Series of Poker Paradise Super Main Event.

Unfortunately for Covington, he was knocked out of the tournament on the first day of competition.

The former interim welterweight champion has been playing poker for many years and has accumulated over $230,000 in total live earnings, according to The Hendon Mob poker database. He even earned close to $50,000 during a seventh-place cash at a tournament in July 2022.

Covington returned to the octagon for the first time in a year to face Buckley on short notice, suffering his second straight loss in the process. “Chaos” is 2-4 in his past six outings — including three world title fights — which includes victories over Tyron Woodley and Jorge Masvidal.
