Kyra Batara vs. Paulina Granados headlines Combate Americas, TS-1 joint show

Atomweights Kyra Batara (6-4) and Paulina Granados (4-2) will headline a combination TS-1 Promotions and Combate Americas show on Dec. 1 in San Antonio, Texas, at the Freeman Coliseum.

Batara, 23, has gone 4-0 in Combate Americas events, winning three of those fights by submission.

“TS-1 Promotions is thrilled to debut the incredibly fast-growing Combate Americas live television series in the great state of Texas,” said TS-1 Promotions CEO Greg Bloom. “We are going to deliver to fans a memorable night of MMA action featuring some of the fastest rising stars in the sport, including several of San Antonio’s hottest, young prospects.”

Combate Americas recently became the first MMA group to air on ESPN, with a show on ESPN 3. A Nov. 11 show from Cancun, Mexico, featuring an eight-man bantamweight tournament, will become the first MMA event to air on Telemundo, the second highest rated Spanish language network in the U.S.

Granados is from Corpus Christi, Texas, trains out of Alliance MMA in San Diego and has won her last two fights.

Two other fights announced for the show are Andres “The Bullet” Quintana (12-2) vs. Rey “The Warrior” Trujillo (21-19) at featherweight and Jose “Froggy” Estrada (4-1) vs. Jesse Vasquez (2-3), also at featherweight.

Quintana, who has nine wins via TKO, will be going for his third win over the year. Trujillo, a Houston native, has stopped 16 opponents during his career.

Estrada will be fighting for the second time in Combate Americas, with three of his four career wins coming in the first round.
