Conor McGregor Claims to Be Back in UFC Drug Testing Pool

Conor McGregor is seemingly plotting a return yet again.

McGregor recently posted multiple pictures of submitting blood and urine sample on his yacht. The former UFC double champ seemed excited and showed off some shadowboxing after submitting the samples. McGregor also appeared to be holding a glass of urine in his hand and said he pisses “excellence.”

“I gave my first blood test that is what the plaster is on my shoulder,” McGregor wrote on Instagram. “I am ECSTATIC! I’m in SHAPE!”

McGregor Could Be Targeting UFC White House Card

McGregor hasn’t fought since breaking his leg in a trilogy loss against Dustin Poirier in 2021. McGregor was supposed to return against Michael Chandler after they starred as rival coaches on “The Ultimate Fighter 31” in 2023. While McGregor returned to the testing pool in October 2023, there was a falling out between the UFC and their former testing partners, USADA. USADA required returning athletes to undergo a testing period of at least six months to be eligible to fight. While there was an exemption rule if the UFC deemed it appropriate, USADA said that the exemption would not be applicable for McGregor. The UFC chose not to renew its contract with the USADA, which blamed the McGregor saga for the ugly breakup. UFC partnered with partnered with Drug Free Sport International, which became the new testing partner starting January 2024.

While McGregor was scheduled to return against Chandler at UFC 303 last year, “Notorious” pulled out due to a toe injury. Dana White didn’t seem very enthusiastic about McGregor’s potential return until recently. Once President Donald Trump announced plans for a UFC White House card in 2026, White said McGregor could possibly be a part of it.
