All 10 competitors slated to fight on Week 8 of Dana White’s Contender Series made weight without issue ahead of their respective bouts on Monday. The Contender Series takes place on Tuesday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. The evening’s featured bout is a middleweight clash pitting Vitor Costa (186) against Damian Pinas (185.5).
Costa has been victorious in eight of nine professional outings while primarily competing under the Jungle Fight banner. The 25-year-old Brazilian has finished his last four opponents inside of a round.
Pinas, meanwhile, has won seven of his first eight fights. “The Babayaga” takes a three-fight KO/TKO streak into the matchup with Costa. The 23-year-old Nova Uniao product has finished all of his victories inside the distance, and his only defeat came as a result of an illegal upkick.
