Cris Cyborg will end her decorated mixed martial arts career this summer under the Professional Fighters League banner.
“Cyborg” will defend her featherweight title against Ketlen Vieira in the PFL Tampa headliner on Aug. 22 at Benchmark, International Arena in Tampa, Florida, The promotion announced the bout on Wednesday. The PFL Tampa main card will air on ESPN beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

“PFL Tampa will be a special event as it hosts the retirement fight for our champion, Cris Cyborg,” said PFL CEO John Martin in a release. “She is a pioneer of not just women’s MMA, but mixed martial arts as a whole, and it has been a privilege for PFL to have her as a deserving champion. Now she headlines one final time in the PFL cage and will stand across from a proven challenger in Ketlen Vieira, who has one mission: ruin the goodbye and take the title. This is the conclusion to the storied career of ‘Cyborg,’ and I can’t wait to be there cageside to witness her create MMA history for the last time.”
A Lasting Legacy for Cris Cyborg
“Cyborg” last competed this past December, when she submitted Sara Collins in the third round of their encounter at PFL Lyon. The 40-year-old Brazilian has won nine straight MMA bouts dating back to the end of her UFC tenure in July 2019. Justino has captured titles in Professional Fighters League, Ultimate Fighting Championship, Bellator MMA, Invicta Fighting Championships and Strikeforce during her illustrious career. She has also remained active between MMA bouts in recent times, with seven boxing matches to her credit since 2022.
Vieira went 10-5 in the Octagon before being released from the UFC earlier this year. “Fenomeno” last appeared at UFC Fight Night 276, where she ended the eight-fight winning streak of surging contender Jacqueline Cavalcanti. Vieira owns other notable victories against the likes of Holly Holm, Miesha Tate, Macy Chiasson, Cat Zingano and Sara McMann.
