Blaydes recently named Ciryl Gane and Alexander Volkov as his most preferred matchups. However, “Razor” is also willing to fight down the rankings and take on Marcin Tybura.
“I want Volkov or Gane, but I’m prepared to fight down and take on Tybura,” Blaydes told Home of Fight.
Blaydes is 2-2 in his last four and is coming off a split-decision win over debutant Rizvan Kuniev. The win saw him rebound from a knockout loss in an interim title bid against Tom Aspinall.
Blaydes Willing to Fight Down in the Rankings
Meanwhile, Gane is on a two-fight winning streak and fresh off a split decision win over Volkov. “Bon Gamin” is rallying for the next title shot since Aspinall has been crowned the undisputed heavyweight champ.
Volkov’s loss against Gane ended a our-fight winning streak. And Tybura will be looking to build on a two-fight winning streak when he takes on Ante Delija at UFC Paris at the Accor Arena in France on Sept. 6.
