Dana White isn’t shutting down the idea of Conor McGregor’s return at the White House.
McGregor has been teasing a return ever since President Donald Trump announced plans for a Ultimate Fighting Championship event at the White House. “Notorious” also returned to the drug testing pool for the second time since he last fought. Not too long ago, White said that it had been a while since he talked to McGregor. However, White now claims to be in nonstop conversation with the former UFC double champ. The UFC head honcho praised McGregor for stepping up whenever the promotion needed him to. White claims the Irishman said that he is “dead serious” about returning at the White House, where the card will go down on the South Lawn in June 2026.

UFC CEO: Conor Will Fight Anybody
“People talk s—t about Conor,” White said on the “Impaulsive” podcast. “I have been in the trenches with Conor. Conor is a guy that has fought injured, Conor is a guy that – a fighter has fallen out, we slid in a stylistically bad matchup for him – he doesn’t care. He literally will fight anybody… He and I have been talking nonstop. He’s like, ‘I’m dead serious. I want this, I’m training, I’m back in the pool, doing all this s—t.’ So we’ll see, we still got a long way to go til February, till we start making this card.”
McGregor hasn’t fought since breaking his leg in a trilogy loss against Dustin Poirier in 2021. The Dubliner teased a return on multiple occasions, even starring as a rival coach against Michael Chandler on “The Ultimate Fighter.” When the two were matched up for UFC 303 last year, McGregor pulled out due to a toe injury. McGregor has had a turbulent personal life, losing a civil lawsuit against a woman who accused him of raping her at a Dublin hotel. McGregor has also been accused of sexually assaulting another woman at an NBA Finals game at the Kaseya Center in Miami. Meanwhile, McGregor has only won once in three outings since his epic rivalry against Khabib Nurmagomedov ended with a submission loss for the Irishman in 2018.
