Daniel Cormier Claims UFC Fighters Are Making More Money With Paramount Deal

UFC fighters are allegedly earning more from the Paramount partnership.

UFC signed a seven-year deal with Paramount earlier this year, marking the end of the ESPN era. All UFC events will be broadcast on Paramount+ starting in 2026 and will be accessible to viewers via a subscription. Dana White had previously claimed that UFC fighters would earn more from the Paramount deal. Daniel Cormier recently confirmed the same without disclosing many details.

During the ESPN era, numbered UFC events were on a pay-per-view model, with some fighters earning a share of the revenue. With the end of the pay-per-view model, there were concerns about fighter pay being negatively affected. However, Cormier claims to know fighters who are currently earning more than they did from pay-per-view revenue. Cormier believes pay-per-view sales were not as they used to be, leading to a dip in fighter pay.

Inside Knowledge?

“They’re already getting more money, that’s the difference,” Cormier said on the ”Weighing In” podcast. “People always talk about, ‘What’s the UFC going to do for the fighter? Well pay-per-view’s going away, what are they going to do?’ I know guys now that are making more money than they did even when they were making pay-per-view, because pay-per-views just, maybe, weren’t selling as much as they used to.”
