Darren Till Blasts ‘Fakest Human on Earth’ Ian Garry for Chimaev Altercation

No matter how hard he tries, Darren Till can’t bring himself to like Ian Garry.

The UFC veteran and current Misfits Boxing champion points to incidents like this past Saturday, where Garry had an altercation with Khamzat Chimaev backstage at UFC Qatar, as a prime example of why the welterweight contender tends to rub people the wrong way.

Chimaev, who is friends with Till, shoved Garry after the Irishman approached to congratulate Arman Tsarukyan on his victory in the main event. However, Chimaev said that he felt that Garry wasn’t respectful in his interaction and was only trying to build hype for himself. Garry defeated Belal Muhammad via unanimous decision in the UFC Qatar co-main event.

‘So Unlikeable’

Till backed up his former training partner in recent post on social media.

“Ian Garry is such a good fighter man… But by God is he possibly the fakest human on earth, fake beyond all beliefs,” Till wrote. “It’s so hard to like him. I’ve literally sat in my bedroom with my own little demons in my head telling me to force myself to like him. He’s calling Khamzat a child. He was being fake. That whole interaction was fake. And when Ian turned you could see he was scared. Khamzat is like me. That’s why we were best mates. If you chat s—t when we see you what is.

“Ian is a really good fighter but he’s just such so unlikeable. So so so… unlikeable. Even hating on Leon’s performance the way he did. Garry got kicked out of that gym as he did of others [because] he’s a wanker at the end of the day. As much as he’s a good fighter and I’ve tried to support Ian Garry is just a proper proper wanker…A fake wanker at that…”

A former welterweight title challenger, Till hasn’t competed in the UFC since 2022. The Liverpool native exited the promotion after losing five of his last six bouts, but “The Gorilla” seems to have found a home with Misfits Boxing, where he has won three straight outings. He last competed on Aug. 30, where he knocked out Luke Rockhold in the third round to capture the organization’s bridgerweight crown.
