If all goes as planned, Dillon Danis will make his first mixed martial arts appearance since 2019 in the very near future.
Mistfits Boxing announced on Monday that Danis will face Warren Spencer for the promotion’s light heavyweight MMA title on Aug. 30 in “the ultimate showdown between striking and grappling.” Despite the light heavyweight label, Danis vs. Spencer will be contested at 170 pounds.

Misfits Boxing 22 takes place at AO Arena in Manchester, England, and is headlined by a boxing match between UFC veterans Luke Rockhold and Darren Till. In another featured boxing match, former UFC interim lightweight champ Tony Ferguson will square off against influencer Salt Papi.
Danis Hasn’t Competed in MMA Since 2019
Danis initially rose to prominence as an outspoken training partner of former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor. “El Jefe” hasn’t competed in MMA since June 2019, when he scored a first-round submission of Max Humphrey at Bellator 222. His only other bout was a first-round tapout of Kyle Walker at Bellator 198 in April 2018. He was scheduled to face Tony Ferguson under the Global Fight League banner in May before the promotion canceled its inaugural events.
Danis also faced Logan Paul in a Misfits Boxing bout in 2025 in October 2023, when he was disqualified due to unsportsmanlike conduct at the 2:55 mark of Round 6. “El Jefe” was also twice slated to meet KSI in a boxing match, but both of those scheduled bouts were canceled.
Nicknamed “The Mechanic,” Spencer will be making his first MMA foray. He has a handful of boxing matches to his credit and is coming off a first-round stoppage of Muganzi Hakim in a pro bout this past April.
