Domestic violence charges have been dropped against UFC veteran Jairzinho Rozenstruik following a dispute with his wife earlier this year in Florida.
According to TMZ Sports, the Broward County district attorney’s office elected not to pursue charges because “the victim refused to provide a sworn statement” and “parties were engaged in mutual combat and provided conflicting accounts of the incident.” Due to the lack of cooperation from the victim, the DA determined it was unlikely that Rozenstruik would be convicted.

In January, Rozenstruik was arrested on charges of false imprisonment and touch or strike/battery/domestic violence. During the dispute with his partner, which occurred while the couple was driving from a storage unit in Pembroke Pines, Florida, Rozenstruik allegedly slapped the woman’s phone out of her hand, grabbed her arm and bit her when she refused to kiss him. The woman also claimed that she punched Rozenstruik in self defense. According to police had “a visible bite mark on her right bicep, redness on both of her forearms and a red scratch/bruise mark under her right eye.” Rozenstruik was also deemed “uncooperative” with the investigation.
‘Amazing Father and Husband’
Rozenstruik’s wife filed a letter requesting that the charges in late January.
“We have 1 child together, who’s 4 years old, we do reside together as a family, with no issues,” the letter read (via MMAjunkie.com). “He’s in fact an incredible amazing father and husband. I’m not in fear of my life, I’m not in any danger at all. I will (ask) that this court drops all of the charges against Mr. Rozenstruik and/or to at least allow him to have non-violent contact between myself and him.”
The 37-year-old Rozenstruik went 9-6 over the course of a UFC tenure that began in 2019, earning notable wins against the likes of Alistair Overeem, Andrei Arlovski, Junior dos Santos and Tai Tuivasa. “Bigi Boy” was released from the promotion last year. Rozenstruik has since gone 2-0 in Dirty Boxing, capturing the organization’s heavyweight title this past August.
