Doo Ho Choi, Charles Jourdain Booked for UFC Fight Night 165 in South Korea

Doo Ho Choi will return to the Octagon after nearly two years away at UFC Fight Night 165 when he faces Charles Jourdain.

Promotion officials announced the featherweight bout on Wednesday evening. UFC Fight Night 165 takes place on Dec. 21 at Sajik Arena in Busan, South Korea, and is headlined by a featherweight showdown between Brian Ortega and Chan Sung Jung.

Choi enters the matchup on a two-fight skid. “The Korean Super Boy” hasn’t competed since suffering a second-round technical knockout loss to Jeremy Stephens at UFC Fight Night 124 in January 2018. Choi kicked off his promotional tenure with KO/TKO finishes of Juan Manuel Puig, Sam Sicilia and Thiago Tavares before losing a memorable decision against Cub Swanson at UFC 206 in what was the “Fight of the Year” for many in 2016. The 28-year-old South Korean has finished 12 of his 14 career triumphs inside the distance.

Jourdain, meanwhile, had a four-bout winning streak snapped in his Octagon debut, when he dropped a unanimous decision against Desmond Green at UFC Fight Night 152 in May. The 23-year-old Canadian owns a 9-2 professional mark while competing primarily under the TKO MMA banner.
