Drakkar Klose Seeks UFC 244 Showdown with Gregor Gillespie at Madison Square Garden

Drakkar Klose extended his winning streak to three when he beat Christos Giagos at UFC 241.

However, Klose was not happy with his performance, as he said it was “sloppy and s—t.” He thought the fight would go a certain way and when it didn’t, he had to adjust.

“No, I thought I could have done better,” Klose said to Sherdog.com. “I trained so hard and in your head you think it is going to go perfect. I had to deal with some adversity and just glad I came out with the victory.”

After the fight, he called out Gregor Gillespie, a move that surprised many observers. The 32-year-old Gillespie is 13-0 and has dominated his opposition by using his wrestling. Klose’s reasoning for the callout is simple.

“I know a lot of people they are scared to fight good competition,” her explained. “I’m not. I’m here and I want to fight the best and if I get a chance to fight him, I want to test my skills.”

Gillespie is from New York, and Klose welcomes the opportunity to compete at Madison Square Garden in the undefeated fighter’s backyard at UFC 244.

“I hope so. I hope I did enough, as I’m on a three-fight winning streak. The ball is in Gillespie’s court. If I can I want it to be on the MSG card in November,” he said.
