Thiago Alves is the latest mixed martial arts veteran to take his talents to Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.
The organization announced the signing of Alves via social media along with the caption “The Pitbull is Thirsty for Blood!” An opponent and date for Alves’ debut were not revealed.

Alves became a free agent following a first-round submission loss to Tim Means at UFC on ESPN 7 on Dec. 7. The 36-year-old American Top Team export has lost four of his last five Octagon appearances dating back to 2018, with his only victory coming in a contentious split-decision verdict over Max Griffin at UFC Fight Night 144.
Alves has been with the UFC since 2005. He compiled a 15-12 record during his tenure with the Las Vegas-based promotion, besting the likes of Matt Hughes, Karo Parisyan, Chris Lytle, Josh Koscheck and Patrick Cote. He challenged for welterweight gold at UFC 100 but had a seven-bout promotional winning streak snapped in a five-round decision loss to then champion Georges St. Pierre.
BKFC will hold its 10th event on Feb. 15 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. UFC veterans Hector Lombard and Jim Alers are scheduled to compete on the card.
