The former welterweight title challenger analyzed the fight that will take place on Saturday at Madison Square Garden on his YouTube channel and predicted that wrestling will be a key factor in that fight.

“No doubt the best way to improve your wrestling is training to defend from top wrestlers,” Burns said. “And I got really impressed about the evolution of Edward´s wrestling skills. He took down Belal [Muhammad], Kamaru [Usman] and Colby [Covington],” Burns said.
According to Burns, Edwards may have already showed his hand regarding a potential game plan.
“He asked for a fight against a striker for a reason,” Burns said. “And he said in an interview to Ariel Helwani that Ian Garry showed the blueprint of how to beat Prates. With that said, I believed he will try to do exactly the same game plan. Move a lot, don’t let Prates find his best distance and take him down whenever Carlos attacks.”
Prates Must Evolve
With that in mind, Burns expects that it could be a long night for his fellow Brazilian.
“I interviewed Prates on my channel, and he said that Garry´s fight made him evolve a lot, mainly in the way he moves,” Burns said. “In my opinion that will decide the winner. If he really evolved in that area, Prates will get the win. But if he fights in the same manner he did against Garry, I think the former champion will use his wrestling to take him down and return to the win column.”
