‘He is real deal’: Pros react to Michael Morales’ quick knockout in UFC Vegas 106 headliner

Michael Morales didn’t have a drop of sweat on him at the moment he stopped Gilbert Burns in the main event of UFC Vegas 106.

The 25-year-old made it look easy against the perennial welterweight contender and one-time title challenger, needing less than four minutes to pick up the biggest win of his career against Burns. With the win, the Ecuadorian standout improved his pro record to 18-0.

Morales made Burns uncomfortable with the first strikes he landed, hurting Burns and sending him to the canvas. “Durinho” was able to get a double leg, and a takedown, but it didn’t last long as Morales got back to his feet and began to punish Burns with punches, hurting the veteran before referee Herb Dean mercifully stepped in to call a stop to the fight at 3:39 into the opening round.

UFC pro fighters and champions were watching the action as it was happening. Check out their reactions to Morales’ breakout moment below.
