Garry’s polarizing personality has divided both fans and fighters. His recent comments have drawn heated reactions, with Makhachev even suggesting his upcoming opponent should do fewer interviews. Speaking on the first episode of “UFC Embedded” ahead of UFC 330, the Dagestani champion claimed that Garry only “acts like a bad guy” and that he’s prepared to humble him.
“He acts like a bad guy,” Makhachev said. “I know he’s a humble guy, but if not, I will make him humble. I’m going to try to follow him and catch him and take him down. Guys, we will make him humble… We will make him respectful.”
Garry and Makhachev will lock horns on Aug. 15 at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia. The champion is riding a 16-fight win streak, tied with Anderson Silva for the UFC record, and a win over Garry will see the Russian pull ahead of the Brazilian Hall of Famer.
