Israel Adesanya has a bold prediction for the UFC 319 headliner.

Dricus Du Plessis (23-2) puts his middleweight title on the line against Khamzat Chimaev (14-0) in the main event at UFC 319 on Aug. 16 at the United Center in Chicago. The champion is a sizeable +170 underdog against Chimaev, who is a -200 favorite. However, Adesanya believes his former foe, Du Plessis, will upset the odds with a late stoppage win over Chimaev. According to Adesanya, Chimaev has a chance only in the first two rounds.

Adesanya: UFC 319 Headliner is ‘Chaotic Good vs. Chaotic Evil’

“I think Dricus gets it. Late finish,” Adesanya said on his YouTube channel. “Khamzat, if he wins, it’s the first two rounds, or the first round. But Dricus is just chaotic—chaotic good, chaotic evil—that’s literally what this fight might be, chaotic good vs. chaotic evil.”

Adesanya lost his middleweight title to Sean Strickland in 2023 and failed to regain it against Du Plessis last year. “The Last Stylebender” has since suffered a stoppage loss against Nassourdine Imavov this past April, putting him on a three-fight skid.

Meanwhile, Du Plessis won the title against Strickland and has defended it against Adesanya and in a rematch against Strickland. “Stillknocks” in undefeated in 11 straight outings since 2018, including nine in the UFC

Chimaev has finished 12 of his 14 career wins, only going the distance against Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns. The undefeated Chechen-born fighter is coming off a first-round submission win over former champ Robert Whittaker
