Jack Della Maddalena wants Daniel Cormier muted in the commentary booth.

Cormier was on color commentary duty at UFC 319 on Saturday at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. Like others have in the past, UFC welterweight champ Maddalena criticized Cormier’s commentary. Maddalena initially slammed Kayo Sports, the official UFC pay-per-view partner for Australia, for their service. He then shared a screenshot saying Cormier’s commentary should be turned off during fights. Maddalena joked that it’s the only way to redeem Kayo Sports.

“There should be a button to turn off DC commentary during fights,” the Australian wrote on his Instagram Stories. “The only way Kayo can redeem themselves. DC mute button”

Della Maddalena Isn’t the First to Critique Cormier’s Work

Cormier has been slammed for biased and unprofessional commentary in the past. Many accuse the former UFC double champ of favoring Dagestani fighters due to his ties to former lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov and his team. Cormier was criticized for hyping Alexander Volkanovski in his featherweight title win over Diego Lopes this past April. Meanwhile, fellow UFC vet and color commentator Dominick Cruz once publicly said that he turns off the volume when Cormier commentates. Cormier later confronted Cruz and was accused of not doing sufficient research.
