Jake Paul vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. salaries revealed; Holly Holm earns $100K in first post-UFC fight

The salaries for Saturday night’s boxing event headlined by Jake Paul taking on Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. have been revealed.

The California State Athletic Commission confirmed the salaries to MMA Fighting with a co-main event fighter earning the highest payday while Paul is actually taking home less than half as much as his opponent.

While the salaries only reveal the contracted amount each fighter is set to earn — so additional bonuses paid out through pay-per-view sales, etc are not part of the amount — Chavez is taking home $750,000 for his fight in the main event. Chavez, like every other fighter on the card, is only earning a flat payday without the traditional show-win bonus.

For his part, Paul is set to earn $300,000 for the main event.

In the co-main event, cruiserweight champion Gilbert Ramirez is set to earning the highest disclosed payday with $1.5 million for his title defense. His opponent Yuniel Dorticos is set to take home $300,000.

Ex-UFC champion Holly Holm, who headlines the preliminary portion of the event, gets her first paycheck since leaving the promotion in free agency. Holm actually requested her release from the UFC and initially signed with the Global Fight League but that organization cancelled its first two shows with no signs that the GFL ever gets off the ground.

So Holm decided to return to boxing where she is set to earn $100,000 for her fight on Saturday. Her opponent Yolanda Vegas is taking home $22,000.
