Jamahal Hill wants to clear up some perceptions surrounding what actually happened during his altercation with Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 323.
In a brief clip that made the rounds on social media, Hill was overheard threatening to knock the former strawweight queen out if she touched his girlfriend. That led to speculation that Jedrzejczyk had threatened Hill’s girlfriend in a portion of the interaction that did not make it on camera. In the meantime, the Jedrzejczyk released a vague statement on social media that appeared to be related to the incident.

“I worked so hard to earn my reputation, and I am embarrassed to be in this situation,” Jedrzejczyk said. “But when somebody uses my name, falsely, without any basis in truth, I will always stand up for myself, and for that I do not deserve to be threatened.”
Hill has since clarified that his girlfriend was not actually in attendance at UFC 323. Instead, Hill was in a VIP guest lounge with his brother when he crossed paths with Jedrzejczyk. It didn’t take long before the dialogue went off the rails, according to Hill.
“I greet everybody. I go up to Joanna, I say ‘hey what’s up champ, how you doing?’” Hill said on YouTube. “She’s like ‘yeah, what’s up? Where’s your girl? Your girl’s not here? Where’s your girl?’ I was like no, she’s not here.’
“She’s like ‘you’re Mr. Big Player Man, Mr. Big Time.’ I’m like what are you talking about? She’s like ‘yeah, I don’t know how you get down in America but I’m from Poland, we’re real gangsters, I don’t do this s—t, I don’t play this s—t.’ I’m like yo, what’s going on? What happened? So I asked her about this. Was something said? Did you hear something? Talk to me. What’s going on? What are you upset about?’
“This lady just completely flipped her s—t. She’s going on [saying] ‘no, motherf—er, you like talking shit, you like talking s—t!’ This is the first legible thing she’s said. I was like I was talking s—t, let’s start there. What did I say? She said ‘no, I don’t do this, I’m from Poland motherf—er.’ I’m like Joanna, I’m just trying to understand what you’re upset about. What did I say? What did you hear that has you this upset? Can you articulate what you’re upset about?’
“[She said] ‘I’m no f—ing lawyer, I don’t have no f—ing lawyer, all this bullshit, I’m from Poland, I’ll f—k you up, I’ll f—k you up, I’m not scared.’ I’m like whoa, now she’s threatening me! Then she says ‘I should have smashed your girl’s head in, go over and smash your head in, too! I don’t give a f—k.’ Now she’s threatened me, she’s threatened my girl. I have not threatened her. I have not raised my voice to her. All I’ve asked her is what is the issue? What is going on? I asked her one more time, can you articulate for me what the issue is? What was said?’”
However, Hill claims that Jedrzejczyk wouldn’t specify what had upset her.
“She said ‘no, you’re talking s—t, you’re talking s—t.’ If I’m talking s—t, what did I say? [She said], ‘no, I don’t know, I just know you’re talking s—t, I hear you’re talking s—t.’ So you’re upset with me and you don’t know what I said. You can’t tell me what I said and you’re this upset but you can’t tell me what I said or what you’re upset about,” Hill said.
“I was like with that being said, you can’t tell me why you’re upset. You’re upset with me, you’re coming at me crazy and all these things and now I don’t give a f—k about why you’re mad. I don’t care. I don’t care whatever reason why you’re mad. I don’t care and you sound f—ing retarded. I told her, you sound retarded, to me. At this point, she’s already threatened me, she’s threatened my girl. I’m not trying to hear this s—t. She’s walked up in my face now. She’s approached me also in my face like she’s going to do something to me.”
Shortly thereafter is the part of the interaction that appeared on video, but Hill says the public perception isn’t actually what happened in the brief clip.
“All the people talking about ‘Joanna was the aggressor.’ My girl wasn’t there. She was being aggressive towards me. The whole time,” Hill said. “Threatening me, being aggressive towards me. Not one time did I get aggressive, did I go towards her, raise my voice, anything. At that point, I’m like you’re making a scene, this s—t ain’t cool. The UFC staff comes, they grab her, start moving her away and now she’s getting real loud talking about ‘just wait, I’ll f—k you and I’ll f—k your girl up.’ I’m like if you would have touched my girl, I would have knocked you the f—k out and if you touch my girl, I’m going to knock you the f—k out. She’s threatening to assault my girl.”
Shooting His Shot
While Hill claims that Jedrzejczyk’s anger came out of nowhere in this particular situation, “Sweet Dreams” admits that he and his partner do have some history with the popular Polish veteran. That stems from Hill attempting to get together with Jedrzejczyk several years ago. Hill blames Jedrzejczyk’s manager for creating additional drama regarding that interaction when they all were at a separate event together. Hill’s girlfriend was apparently also present during this time.
“A couple of years ago in New York, when the whole bus incident happened [ahead of UFC 229], a bunch of us were in there, Joanna was in New York, I was in New York and I shot my shot. I was shooting my shot. I was shooting my shot, I tried to smash,” Hill said.
“Her manager, this entire time we’re at this event [a few years after UFC 229] is like subliminally trying to drop messages to my girl, trying to dry snitch. The thing is, I’m real, I’m a real honest and transparent person. My girl already knew this. My girl had already known this, I had already talked to her. We had already spoken on this. She kept doing this. [My girlfriend] brings this to my attention like ‘I don’t know what’s going on, she keeps dropping like subliminal hints about New York, is there something more about New York that I don’t know or whatever?’ I’m like no, I told you what happened. I tried to f—k with her, nothing happened. It was what it was.’
“When she does it again, my girl tells her ‘I know about New York, I’m not mad, I’m not tripping about it, we’re good, I know my man, we’re good.’ So her manager takes this and because she can’t drive a wedge or get the reaction she wanted so she just straight up turns to Joanna and said ‘you had sex with Jamahal?’ Says this to her in front of my girl, which understandably could be embarrassing for her, which is something I absolutely never said.
“I said I tried to sleep with her. She says this to Joanna. Joanna jumps up, she’s like ‘no, I’m not like that, I’m from Poland, we’ve got morals, we don’t do that.’ Now mind you this entire time we’re at this event, my girl and Joanna have been sitting and talking, they’ve been cool, best of friends, this whole time. She was not tripping about this at all.”
Hill believes the more recent incident with Jedrzejczyk may have stemmed from that other interaction, and that the ex-strawweight champion thinks her role in all of it was falsely portrayed.
“From what I’m being told and what she’s not saying publicly, she was upset that I told my girl that she was in my DM’s and she was trying to get with me and all this and that’s why she was upset,” Hill said. “Never happened. I never said that whatsoever. Absolutely never said that. What I said was I made the advances.”
Hill also showed screenshots of him sending private messages to Jedrzejczyk on social media to prove that he made the initial advance. He also showed further messages that seemed to indicate that there was no bad blood between the two afterward.
“I still don’t know why she’s mad. If she can tell anybody why she’s mad, please truly, let me know,” Hill said.
