Jean Silva recently took a dig a Movsar Evloev for mocking Diego Lopes.

Ilia Topuria recently vacated the featherweight title to move up to lightweight. Lopes is now scheduled to fight Alexander Volkanovski for the vacant title in the main event at UFC 314 on April 12 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. This matchup didn’t go over well with Movsar Evloev, who is expected to be the next contender at featherweight. Evloev called Lopes his “chicken,” predicting Volkanovski to beat the Brazilian.
“[Alexander Volkanovski] good luck for your next fight,” Evloev wrote on X. “I know you’re gonna beat this guy. He’s my chicken.”

Silva, a surging force in the division, hit back at Evloev for his comments. “Lord” blamed Evloev’s inactivity for Lopes surpassing him for the title shot — even though he already beat the Brazilian.
“Brother, you talk so much, but where are your fights? While you’re sitting around, a guy you already beat is about to fight for the title,” Silva wrote. “Staying undefeated without action is easy. You’re just another one who talks too much and does too little.”

Lopes dropped a hard-fought unanimous decision against Evloev in his short-notice UFC debut in 2023. Lopes has since racked up five consecutive wins with three finishes, leaving behind credible names like Dan Ige, Sodiq Yusuff and Brian Ortega in his wake. Meanwhile, Evloev has since earned unanimous decision wins over Arnold Allen and former bantamweight champ Aljamain Sterling.
Silva’s rise to stardom has been nothing short of spectacular within a short period of time. Silva has racked up four consecutive finishes since his UFC debut last year, even accepting a lightweight matchup against Drew Dober on two weeks’ notice. The 28-year-old most recently finished Melsik Baghdasaryan at UFC Seattle last month and called for a matchup against Bryce Mitchell, which is now scheduled for UFC 314 on April 12 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.
