Ulberg (14-1) and Prochazka (32-6) fought for the vacant light heavyweight title at UFC 327 earlier this month in Miami. Ulberg compromised his knee early in the fight, and Prochazka looked to be en route to a sureshot win. However, “Black Jag” pulled out a slick combo out of thin air to knock Prochazka out clean. Prochazka subsequently said that he was going light after he saw Ulberg’s injured knee.
However, Ulberg isn’t buying Prochazka’s claims of being merciful. Ulberg even said that Prochazka’s samurai persona, built on the Bushido code, is mostly a facade. According to Kiwi, he could sense fear in Prochazka when they faced off ahead of UFC 327.
Responding to Ulberg, Prochazka took a dig at his previous profession of stripping. According to “BJP,” he couldn’t properly fathom that the fight had become easy after Ulberg compromised his knee. As for Ulberg’s accusations of pretending to be a tough guy, Prochazka says he is too old to pretend.
‘I Want to Be Real’
“I don’t want to hear this bulls—t from a stripper… I just saw him, he was hurt,” Prochazka said on “The Ariel Helwani Show.” “And I didn’t accept the scenario that it was an easy fight. The only thing I know is hard work… Congrats, he is the champion. He caught me, I accept that. But all these things he said that I ‘played’ something. Maybe I’m too old to play something. I want to be rare, I want to be real.”
Prochazka also claims that he didn’t originally use the term “mercy,” and that it was initially suggested by Joe Rogan. However, Rogan had merely asked Prochazka if he took a step back after noticing Ulberg’s injury. Prochazka cleary said that he felt “mercy.”
