MVP and Netflix on Wednesday announced the broadcast team for “Rousey vs. Carano” on Saturday at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. Perhaps the most intriguing revelation in the release was that Jon Jones and Cain Velasquez will be present for guest commentary and analysis. While Velasquez is expected to be on hand for weigh-in coverage on Friday, it is not specified what Jones’ role will be.

Jones, a former UFC two-division champion, recently requested his release from the Las Vegas-based promotion after being excluded from the White House card on June 14. “Bones” hasn’t fought since defending the heavyweight crown against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 in November 2024. Though his fighting future is uncertain, Jones hasn’t fully committed to retirement.
Velasquez, meanwhile, is a former UFC heavyweight champion who was recently released from prison after serving approximately 11 months. Velasquez pleaded no contest to attempted murder, felony assault and additional gun charges stemming from a February 2022 incident in which the former fighter fired a gun at a truck containing multiple people — including Harry Goularte, a man accused of molesting the fighter’s son. Velasquez hasn’t fought since 2019, but he was regarded as one of the top heavyweights in the sport during a peak that included two UFC title reigns.
Familiar Faces on the Call
The MVP “Rousey vs. Carano” broadcast team will feature Mauro Ranallo on play-by-play and UFC veteran on commentary, while Sibley Scoles will serve in the reporter role. The event’s desk hosts will include Ariel Helwani, ex-UFC champ Tyron Woodley and Netflix lead anchor Elle Duncan. Cat Zingano is also expected to provide guest commentary and analysis.
MVP “Rousey vs. Carano” is headlined by a five-round featherweight clash between Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano. The co-main event will see Nate Diaz face Mike Perry at welterweight, while Francis Ngannou will meet Philipe Lins in another featured contest at heavyweight. The main card airs on Netflix at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, while prelims stream on the MVP YouTube channel and Netflix’s Tudum at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT.
