Jon Jones Issues Warning to Alex Pereira: ‘Be Careful What You Wish For’

Jon Jones and Alex Pereira are building up a potential matchup.

Pereira (13-3) and Jones (28-1) have been rallying to fight each other at the White House in June. Pereira recently had “Next Jones” written on a tire in the tire shop in Brazil where he used to work. “Poatan” had also written Magomed Ankalaev’s name in a tire after beating him in the rematch at UFC 320 last year.

Jones issued a warning while responding to Pereira. “Bones” reminded Pereira that he has beaten a lot of fellow countrymen in the past. Jones would still like to add to the list by beating “Poatan.”

Another Feather in the Cap?

“I beat a lot of legends from your country, my friend,” Jones said on Instagam. “I know you’d love to avenge the boys, but boy would you be a good one to add to the list. Be careful what you wish for. CHAMA.”

Jones has beaten a plethora of Brazilian legends like Lyoto Machida, Vitor Belfort, and Thiago Santos. The list of Jones’ fallen opponents also includes Pereira’s coach and mentor, Glover Teixeira

Jones unceremoniously retired in June 2025 after holding up the heavyweight division for over a year. However, Jones returned to the drug testing pool just weeks later after President Donald Trump announced plans for a UFC event at the White House in 2026. Meanwhile, Pereira reclaimed the light heavyweight title with a knockout win over Ankalaev in October 2025. Pereira has since been calling for a heavyweight booking against Jones, who will be happy to oblige.
