At UFC 223 back in April 2018, Khabib Nurmagomedov fought late replacement opponent Al Iaquinta for the vacant UFC lightweight championship. That night in Brooklyn, N.Y., Nurmagomedov outpointed Iaquinta to become champ.
Now, over a year later, Nurmagomedov is set to complete his second title defense at UFC 242 when he takes on interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier. The fight goes down on Saturday Sept. 7 in Abu Dhabi.
