Ray Sefo is the latest executive to part ways with the PFL. | Ben Duffy/Sherdog.com
Ray Sefo will no longer be working for Professional Fighters League.
The longtime PFL president and the organization have parted ways, though further details regarding Sefo’s departure are currently unknown. The news was first reported on “The Ariel Helwani Show” on Tuesday.
Sefo served as president of both World Series of Fighting and the PFL, but his role appeared to become much less prominent in recent months. The 54-year-old Auckland, New Zealand, native was a standout kickboxer who also fought four times in MMA. He last competed at WSOF 4 in August 2013, fallling to Dave Huckaba via second-round TKO. “Sugarfoot” did not officially announce his retirement from active competition until 2018. Sefo has also maintained involvement in combat sports as a coach, primarily for Xtreme Couture, over the years.
Further Restructuring
Sefo is the second well-known executive to exit the PFL. Last week, the promotion announced that former CEO Peter Murray was departing the organization. Murray initially shifted to an international executive role last year when John Martin came on as CEO.
The league will kick off 2026 with PFL Road to Dubai on Feb. 7. That card is headlined by a lightweight title tilt between Usman Nurmagomedov and Alfie Davis and airs on the ESPN app in the United States.
