Marc Diakiese vs. Stevie Ray booked for UFC London

A pair of U.K. lightweights will settle a score at UFC London as rivals Marc Diakiese and Stevie Ray have been pitted against each other for the annual show at The o2 in London, England on March 21.

The UFC announced the fight between the former BAMMA champion and former CAge Warriors champion via social media on Tuesday. A meeting between the two has been earmarked ever since the two began taking shots at each other online, which can be traced back to 2017.

Diakiese (14-3-0) was signed to the UFC as one of the most highly touted European prospects and as an undefeated BAMMA champion. “Bonecrusher” got off to a great start with the promotion, before he went through a difficult spell, losing three straight bouts to some of the division’s top talent in Drakkar Klose, Dan Hooker and Nasrat Haqparast. Diakiese has recently bounced back into the win column with two high profile wins over Joseph Duffy and Lando Vannata.

Ray (23-9-0) goes into the contest on the back of one of his most high-profile wins to date, a split decision victory over Michael Johnson in the co-main event of UFC Singapore. The Scot back into the win column with the decision after suffering a shock knockout loss to Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace Leonardo Santos in Stockholm earlier this year. Since his signing in 2015, Ray boasts a 7-4 record with the UFC.
