Marlon Vera returns at UFC 331 with career at a crossroads

Bantamweights on contrasting career trajectories in the Ultimate Fighting Championship will collide at UFC 331.

Marlon Vera takes on Charles Jourdain at UFC 331 on Sept. 19. Vera’s management, Iridium Sports Agency, first announced the booking.

Marlon Vera faces Charles Jourdain after four straight UFC losses

Vera (23-12) will be eager to return to winning ways against Jourdain. “Chito” came up short in his championship bid against Sean O’Malley at UFC 299 back in 2024 and has since lost three more fights. His last win came all the way back in 2023 against Pedro Munhoz. Another defeat, which will extend Vera’s losing streak to five, could spell trouble for his future in the UFC.

Meanwhile, Jourdain (18-8) dropped down to bantamweight in 2024 following back-to-back losses at featherweight. “Air” has since won three in a row, two of them via guillotine chokes. A win over Vera could earn the Canadian a high-profile or top-ranked bantamweight next.

While the location for UFC 331 hasn’t been announced by the UFC, the numbered event is rumored to be at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
