Rising lightweight prospect Mauricio Ruffy is getting a big step-up in competition as he faces King Green at the UFC 313 show on March 8, multiple people with knowledge of the situation confirmed to MMA Fighting following a report from Alex Behunin.
Ruffy (11-1) won twice in the UFC so far, back-to-back victories over Jamie Mullarkey and James Llontop, and will enter the cage for the first time in 2025 riding a six-fight winning streak. The Fighting Nerds representative finished his opponents in 10 of his 11 wins as a professional.
Green (32-16-1, 1 no contest) made his first walk to the UFC cage three years before Ruffy first fought in MMA in 2013, compiling an octagon record of 13-11-1-1 with key wins over Al Iaquinta, Jim Miller, Tony Ferguson, Grant Dawson and Clay Guida.
UFC 313 takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and feature a highly-anticipated light heavyweight showdown between champion Alex Pereira and Magomed Ankalaev in the main event. Lightweights Justin Gaethje and Dan Hooker co-headline the show in a five-round clash.
