Holloway has hyped up his boxing ahead of the rematch with McGregor. The Hawaiian is renowned for his relentless pressure, unparalleled cardio, masterful command of distance and volume striking. Meanwhile, his Irish counterpart is known for his power and timing, which took him as far as securing a pro-boxing bout against Floyd Mayweather Jr.
In a new interview with New York Post Sports, Holloway discussed the matchup. He was asked about the prospect of facing a striker who famously boxed Mayweather Jr., revealing his desire to reiterate his claim that he’s the “best boxer in the UFC.”
“Yeah, I mean, we get to see, you know? I’m excited,” the former featherweight and BMF champion said. “He got to share the Octagon with another legend, and I can’t wait to go out there and show you guys what’s up, you know? I’m the best boxer in the UFC and you guys get to find out come July 11.”
When pressed further about the boxing match between Mayweather Jr. and McGregor, Holloway added, “I think he did well, you know, a lot of people think that Floyd was carrying him, but if he was, if he wasn’t, I think he did well, man. I think he did super good… He’s a really good boxer, but unfortunately, he got to see me.”
