Davis is scheduled to box Jake Paul in an exhibition match under the MVP banner on Nov. 14 in Miami. Davis’ ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossel, has filed a civil lawsuit against the lightweight world champion just two weeks ahead of his upcoming fight. The lawsuit accuses “Tank” of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and intentional infliction of emotional distress, while seeking over $50,000 in compensation. The woman claims she was attacked at her workplace.

Addressing the issue in a statement emailed to the press, MVP said it have already started an investigation and said it will take further steps once the matter has been reviewed:
“Most Valuable Promotions immediately initiated an investigation upon learning of the civil lawsuit filed against Gervonta Davis in Miami-Dade County on Oct. 30, 2025. At this time, we are gathering information and reviewing the details to ensure any decision we make is thoroughly vetted. We unequivocally condemn any form of violence and are committed to handling this matter with diligence and respect for all involved. We will make a determination on next steps once we have completed our review and consulted with the appropriate parties. Until then, we will not be commenting further.”
Davis was accused of aggravated battery by another ex-girlfriend just two months ago. Davis was also arrested in 2020 and 2022 on alleged battery domestic violence charges.
Paul, co-founder of MVP, is also no stranger to sexual assault allegations. The YouTube personality and boxer was accused of wrongdoing by two separate women in 2021.
