Nick Diaz may be back very soon.
Back in August, Diaz was set to make his return to the cage after a three-year hiatus for the UFC’s debut fight card in Abu Dhabi, where he would take on Vicente Luque. However, a few weeks before the bout, Diaz withdrew due to “travel issues.” Instead of re-booking Luque, the UFC hoped to rebook the matchup for a future date and now it appears that may have happened.
On Saturday, Diaz released a video of training footage along with a message teasing a return at UFC 310.
“70 days. It’s my way.”
UFC 310 takes place on Dec. 7 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. While the card does not yet have a main event attached, high-profile fights between Ciryl Gane and Alexander Volkov, and Movsar Evloev and Aljamain Sterling, among others, are planned for the event.
A former Strikeforce welterweight champion and UFC welterweight title challenger, Diaz has not competed since his TKO loss to Robbie Lawler at UFC 266.
