Oktagon MMA to Host 2026 Event in 60,000-Seat German Football Stadium

Oktagon MMA is looking to break its own European record next year.

At Oktagon 62 in October 2024, at the event titled “Bigger Than Ever,” a whopping 59,148 fans packed the Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt, Germany. This toppled the MMA attendance record previously held by Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki for its 57,776-person KSW 39: Colosseum fight card in 2017. According to the organization in a press release on Friday, the promotion is aiming to break that record and surpass 60,000 tickets sold.

In terms of MMA as a whole, the most heavily attended fight card remains Pride Shockwave 2002, as co-promoted with K-1, at the National Stadium in Tokyo. A reported 91,107 were in attendance at that gala event headlined by Mirko Filipovic vs. Kazushi Sakuraba. The Tokyo Dome held three additional fight cards that reached or surpassed 60,000, while the Ultimate Fighting Championship record stands at 57,127 for UFC 243 in Melbourne, Australia.

The Czech Republic-based fight league founded in 2016 plans on holding what would be its largest event on Sept. 26, 2026. Oktagon 94, which has the working title of “The Biggest Comeback Ever,” will play out in the aforementioned Deutsche Bank Park with expectations of surpassing its previous massive stadium show. With the fight card over 11 months away, no matches have been floated yet, but it is expected that multiple championships will be contested as well as the conclusion of a tournament.

No Dream Is Too Big

Oktagon MMA co-founder Ondrej Novotny was elated to announce the news of this 2026 fight card, which will be taking place during the 10th year of the organization’s existence. He provided a statement on the release.

“Last year in Frankfurt, we achieved something that on one has ever done before—we organized the largest MMA tournament in the world,” Novotny wrote. “It was a moment when we proved to ourselves that no dream is too big and that’s why we’re going back there. Oktagon 94 will not only be a repeat of our success, but also a big German celebration of the promotion’s 10th birthday and another challenge to surpass ourselves!”

The other man behind Oktagon MMA, Pavol Neruda, also weighed in on this spectacle fight card.

“The event in Eintracht Frankfurt opened the door to the whole of Germany and showed that fans here love MMA as we present it. Oktagon 94 will be a thank you to them—a celebration of their energy, support and passion that they bring to every show. At the same time, it will be a German celebration of our 10th birthday—a symbol of how far we have come in 10 years,” Neruda stated.

The promotion is also making a milestone in the nation of Germany this Saturday, as Oktagon 78 will reportedly be airing live and free on German cable television, a first for the Europe-based organization. That fight card will be headlined by a welterweight tilt pitting “King of GerMMAny Belt” winner Christian Eckerlin (17-7, 1 NC) against the well-traveled Ivica Truscek (44-39)—the former picked up that title at the stadium-based Oktagon 62 event.
