Paulo Costa claims his girlfriend, Tamara Alves, received disrespectful comments from Khamzat Chimaev.
While Costa fought Roman Kopylov at UFC 318 on Saturday, his hatred was directed towards Chimaev throughout fight week. “Borrachinha” accused Chimaev of DM-ing his girlfriend and called out “Borz” after a dominant win over Kopylov.

Costa has subsequently revealed the details of Chimaev’s alleged messages. Costa claims Chimaev questioned his manhood in his messages to Alves. Chimaev also allegedly sent a picture of Israel Adesanya’s infamous “humping” celebration after his win over Costa. Chimaev also urged Alves to find herself a better man than Costa.
“For some reason, I think lack of confidence, [Chimaev] say, ‘I’m gonna send a message to his woman.’ He say, ‘Your man is not a man enough. He likes men.’ He sent her a picture of Adesanya and me, he said, ‘Look, he lost to Adesanaya, he likes black man… You should look for a better man than him.’ I hate this motherf—-er, I hate this guy. I want to fight him. I want to take everything that he has,” Costa said on “The Ariel Helwani Show”
Chimaev Claims Costa’s Partner Contacted Him
Meanwhile, Chimaev has hinted that Costa’s girlfriend was the first to contact him. “It was she who wrote to me habibi,” he wrote on X.
While Costa was originally scheduled to fight Chimaev at UFC 294, the Brazilian was forced out with an injury. Costa’s win over Kopylov is his first since 2022. Meanwhile, Chimaev is scheduled to challenge Dricus Du Plessis for the middleweight title at UFC 319 on Aug. 16 at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. Costa wants to fight Chimaev next, regardless of the outcome of his fight against Du Plessis.
