Paulo Costa is ready to move up to heavyweight to fight Josh Hokit

Josh Hokit is currently scheduled to fight Derrick Lewis on June 14 at the White House. However, Costa claims he has informed the UFC that he is ready to fight Hokit at the White House if Lewis pulls out of the fight.

While Costa has only fought at middleweight and light heavyweight so far, “Borrachinha” believes he weigh in heavier than Hokit without having to cut any weight. Considering Lewis was booked for the White House at President Donald Trump’s behest, Costa suggests that “The Black Beast” be matched up with someone else.

Costa also wants a chance to earn a bonus, which he thinks he originally deserved for his last fight. Costa finished a previously undefeated Azamat Murzakanov at UFC 327 earlier this month. Meanwhile, Hokit earned a unanimous decision win in a nail-biting bloodbath against Curtis Blaydes on the same card. While Costa missed out on a bonus, Hokit won two – “Fight of the Night” and “Performance of the Night” – walking home with an extra $200,000. Costa has since expressed his disappointment with the bonus snub and wants a chance to earn a bonus against Hokit.

Hokit (9-0) also expressed interest in fighting Costa (16-4), also calling for the BMF title to be put on the line. “The Incredible Hok” wrote in response to Costa’s callout:
